Lots of Reading

So this is kind of pointless, but I’m a little bored right now and have nothing much else to write about. I realized today that many of the books I’ve read in my lifetime have been part of a series. Most of the time, the books I read have a sequel or many more. Just for the fun of it, I’ve compiled all of my favorite series into a list(no particular order):

  1. Harry Potter--7 books
  2. His Dark Materials— I’ve re-read these books a few times. I do not recommend seeing the movie The Golden Compass, which is based upon the first book in the series, it was quite horrible—3 books
  3. Lord of the Rings—Including The Hobbit and the Silmarillion—5 books
  4. Sally Lockhart Quartet—4 books
  5. Anne of Green Gables—I own the first 4, however there are a lot more.
  6. Fern Capel series— 3 books
  7. Series of Unfortunate Events—My brother Steven talked me into reading these books a few years ago and they are surprisingly entertaining—13 books
  8. Twilight— 4 books
  9. The Giver series—A required read in 8th grade, but still a good series— 3 books
  10. The Chronicles of Narnia— 7 books
  11. Pillars of The Earth—I read Pillars of the Earth this summer and have yet to read the sequel, which I think I’m going to do asap before winter break is over. The first book is long (973pages) but It is a really good read and I recommend it.

These total up to 54 books. What I didn’t include are the many series in which I’m not sure how many or exactly which books I’ve read (since I read them quite a while ago). I was a huge fan of American Girl, which had series upon series of books based upon different characters. I would pick a character, read the series of books, then move onto a different one. In grade school I also was a fan of the Dear America diaries. I can’t remember exactly which ones I’ve read but, I know I went through a phase where I read at least one a week for a few months. I also was a fan of Goosebumps and I used to have a small collection of those books.

That’s pretty much all that I can think of off the top of my head. I’m sure that I’ve probably read more, I just don’t remember.
