My House!

My family and I are officially starting the move into our house tomorrow!

We are moving to Mukwonago, about a 35ish minute drive from Milwaukee. It will be nice seeing as my family has been living in a two-bedroom apartment downtown for the last 6 months (keep in mind that there is five of them).

Thank God I had the dorms to live in! I probably would have died if I had to live cramped in there with the rest of my family.

There are many things that I’m looking forward to in our new house, that we didn’t have in our old one:

  1. Not having six people share one bathroom! In our old house we had one full bathroom in which we sometimes needed to all shower in a day. It was a constant race for the shower in the morning between everyone (especially because our hot water tank only lasted for 1 1/2 showers lol). Steve and I used to get in arguments over who would shower first. Usually I would just get up at 5 in the morning just to get in the shower before him. It was ridiculous.
  2. Distance from our neighbors. The new house is on a corner, and our next-door-neighbors are separated by by some woods. This is better than our old house because we used to have this crabby neighbor who would steal our stuff. If a ball went over the fence into his yard, he would take it and give it to his grandchildren. Fortunately for us, Steve and I went to grade school with his grandchildren, so they would return our stuff when we would see them at school.
  3. Multiple washers/dryers. Try getting the clothes you want to wear washed when you have one small washer and dryer with 6 people living in a house. In our new house we will have three.
  4. A larger yard. My brothers and I used to try to have kickball games in our backyard. This was not a good idea. It always ended up with a broken window. At our new house, we now have 2.5 acres of land, free to do what we please.
  5. A three-car garage. We have lots of junk, most of which we kept in our one-car garage. Now we actually will have room to park cars in our garage! lol
  6. Less Crime. Two summers ago we had some hoodlums come into our garage and steal two bikes…All while were in our backyards! I’m assuming that the crime rate in Mukwonago isn’t that bad.
  7. Windows. Because my bedroom in my old house was in the basement, I didn’t have any windows. Now I have three with a pretty nice view. This makes me very happy.
  8. Wild animals. Steve and I went out the the new house the other day, and we saw some deer. I guess there are some wild turkey out there too. That should be exciting.

I could go on, but I’m tired and my brain is on the verge of not functioning.

Yay for moving into a bigger house!
