April 20, 2008

So I went to my brother Sam’s track meet today, which consisted of 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.

There was this 13-year-old girl who ran the mile in 5:31. It was amazing. She beat everyone, even all the boys. This kind of made me think of how through all my years of high school track my best mile was a 5:51, and how this girl could’ve beaten me at my prime by twenty seconds. Both my dad and my brother Steven pointed this out to me.

On the upside, I saw this Whitnall girl there, who I ran against and beat throughout high school. This made me feel a little bit better.
